How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse

In a zombie apocalypse, I wouldn't mess with me, would you? (photography by FotoKai)

1. Wear ridiculous amounts of makeup to create a look that is equally fierce and elaborate, so that any potential human enemies you encounter will assume you are some kind of authority of a tribe of survivors, and will be less likely to threaten you.

2. Grow your hair out as much as possible, to the point where it resembles a headpiece, but can also be used for warmth, hiding tools, and as a weapon if needed.

3. Before you are forced to leave your home and navigate the harsh climates of the outdoors, be sure to choose a battle outfit that includes as much leather and metal hardware as possible, so there will be no doubt in anyone's mind that you are truly badass, and a force to be reckoned with.

Haha.

This summer has gone by so quickly- it's hard to believe that it's already September!

Do you remember when (what seems like a long time ago now) I posted the behind-the-scenes photos of this shoot? I finally got the edited shots back, and am happy to find that they are truly wild!

The first photo is a fully edited image that fully conveys the concept the photographer was trying to create, (a scene of post apocalypse survival in the heart of Death Valley) and I think he did a great job in making me look as fierce as I was meant to be!

This was a really fun shoot to be a part of- I just loved how dramatic the piles of fake dreadlocks and tribal makeup ended up looking as a final result. And what really cracks me up about the wild and crazy dreadlocks they created is that in reality, if I were stranded in a sort of situation where I had no way to cut my hair, it grows so quickly and is so thick, it probably wouldn't take very long before it actually starting looking like it does in these pictures! Plus, I like to think that I would be an intimidating opponent if I were out fighting for my survival in a post apocalyptic world- so maybe these photos are an accurate depiction of what I would look like in this situation! Haha.

Isn't this photo just terribly frightening?

After a long period of waiting, I am finally getting all the other photos back from various shoots I did these past few weeks, so there will be more coming in soon! I especially loved the fantastical watermelon concept photo-shoot. (If that sounds crazy to you, you'll just have to wait and see what it means!)

I think it's really fun to see how many different characters I can be transformed into with the help of the photographers and makeup artists- and it will be up to you to let me know which one you like best!

So what do you think- would you challenge me in a post apocalyptic world, or stay far away?

Xoxo,

Camille

  1. Wowza! I don't know whether to be frightened or inspired... more inspired than frightened, thankfully. ;) Love this!
